Function Characteristics
Prohexadione calcium belongs to the cyclohexanecarboxylic acid class of plant growth retardants and is a novel plant growth regulator first developed by Japan’s Combin Chemical Industries. It primarily inhibits GA1, which controls stem and leaf elongation, thereby shortening stem growth in many plants. Crucially, it does not affect GA4, which regulates flower bud differentiation and grain development, ensuring high safety. Furthermore, calcium cyclohexylcarboxylate exhibits no residual toxicity in rotational crops and causes no environmental pollution, offering broad application prospects.
1. Low toxicity, no residue, no adverse effect on the growth of the next crop, no impact on the environment;
2. Inhibit the biosynthesis of GA3, control vegetative growth and promote reproductive growth;
3. It can protect the existing gibberellin’s activity, and effectively prevent premature senescence of crops in the later stage;
4. Have a certain ability to resist stress, control prosperity, increase production, and prevent disease in one.
