Function and Characteristics
Phethalanillic acid is a biologically active plant growth regulator. When applied via foliar spray, it rapidly penetrates plant tissues, promoting nutrient transport to flower bud growth points. It enhances plant cell vitality, stimulates chlorophyll synthesis, and facilitates pollination and fertilization, thereby inducing flower bud development into fruit. It prevents physiological and pre-harvest fruit drop, advancing natural maturity by 5–7 days. It exhibits significant flower and fruit retention effects, boosting yields in crops with low fruit set rates.
