According to the latest data from China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, over 590,000 fertilizer products are currently registered/filed nationwide. The top five categories are microbial inoculants, humic acid-containing water-soluble fertilizers, bio-organic fertilizers, amino acid-containing water-soluble fertilizers, and compound microbial fertilizers. Among registered/filed fertilizers, 31,288 are foreign-registered, showing an upward trend. This indicates that environmentally friendly, high-value-added water-soluble fertilizers expanding into overseas markets represent a current trend in fertilizer exports.
Registration data reveals that China’s fertilizer industry is undergoing structural adjustments, with water-soluble and microbial fertilizers steadily increasing their market share and becoming new engines for industry growth. Filed products account for over 90% of the total, dominated by water-soluble fertilizers containing macro, micro, and trace elements. This trend stems from modern agriculture’s urgent demand for new, high-efficiency fertilizers. Overall, China’s fertilizer industry is at a critical juncture of transitioning from traditional products toward green, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
